Well, the Tigers are 0-4, and no one has put up an official game post. Coincidence? Yes. But I have a feeling if we lose, we'll all need room to piss and moan for the rest of the day. So, here are your starters:
Detroit Tigers (0-4)
SP: Dontrelle Willis (1 IP, 36.00 ERA career against CWS)
Projected lineup:
1: Edgar Renteria SS (.222)
2: Placido Polanco 2B (.105)
3: Carlos Guillen 1B (.385)
4: Magglio Ordonez RF (.235)
5: Miguel Cabrera DH (.200)
6: Ivan Rodriguez C (.250)
7: Brandon Inge 3B (.308)
8: Jacque Jones LF (.091)
9: Clete Thomas CF (.556)
Chicago White Sox (2-2)
SP: Gavin Floyd (23.2 IP, 2.66 ERA career against us)
Projected lineup:
1: Nick Swisher CF(.214)
2: Orlando Cabrera SS (.188)
3: Jim Thome DH (.188)
4: Paul Konerko 1B (.231)
5: Jermaine Dye RF (.471)
6: AJ Pier-douchebag C (.529)
7: Carlos Quentin LF (.333)
8: Joe Crede 3B (.294)
9: Juan Uribe 2B (.200)
The game will be on FOX at 3:55 PM EDT
Game Notes:
I had a dream where Dombrowski traded Jason Grilly to the Rockies for a bag of baseballs and a 24 pack of Coors with those vented cans. Reality sucks.
Sheffield has said that he will play through his finger injury, so long as there isn't excessive pain or swelling. Don't be surprised if he makes it on the field today.
Willis' last quality start was September 25th against the Cubs, where he had 2 ER in 8 innings, and struck out 7. He opened 2007 with 3 quality starts, and finished April with a 5-1 record and a 5.35 ERA.
The lineup projections are my own and thus most likely wrong.
The Tigers are currently 3 games behind the Royals for first place.
Ryan Raburn has been sent to the minors and reliever Francis Beltran has been called up. He will be available to pitch today.
