First off - great showing today Tigers bullpen! A lot of BP news has surfaced over the past few days, so I figured I'd condense it for those who hadn't heard it all yet.

Cruceta's visa was approved a couple days ago. He was able to pick it up Thursday and then travel, though I'm not sure when he's supposed to be here.

Rapada's tendinitis is almost gone, and he was called up. He's taking the place of Bazardo who is out of options.

Apparently unhappy he wasn't the lefty to get the call up, Fultz asked for an unconditional release just two weeks after the Tigers signed him. The Tigers granted his request.

Rodney had another good BP session. No return is projected yet, however, another article said on the 10th that the organization should know within a couple of days. His next session is Monday.

Mcbride is getting Tommy John's.

The Tigers signed lefty Casey Fossom to a minor league contract with the Mud Hens.

So, in short, we have added to our available players Cruceta, Rapada, and Fossum. We lost Bazardo (assuming he doesn't clear wavers, or pack for somewhere else), Fultz and McBride (for the season). Also, we hopefully will have a return date for Rodney soon.

Until further notice, I'm shifting into Lions fan mode with the Tigers.

Wait. Hear me out.

With the Lions, we always hear "when <the running game, the secondary, Mike Williams, Mike Martz's offense> gets going, this team will be tough to stop." I've been hearing this for years. And for a long time I believed it, because it made sense at a point. And it allowed us Lions fans to pretend we were rooting for a better team than we were. But it was, and is, a swindle. What needed to get going never did, and we got wise to it.

So, I will no longer utter anything like "when <the offense, the bullpen, the starting pitching> gets going, this team will be tough to stop." This Tiger team now officially has to show me that they can pull out of this, and that every good game is not going to be followed inexorably by another debacle like today.

Dontrelle Willis has been put on the 15-day DL. He will be replaced by Ryan Raburn on the roster for now, his rotation spot will be taken by Armando Galarraga when it comes around.

For those interested: Galarraga is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in Toledo right now (2 starts). Our old friend Virgil Vasquez is 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA in 2 starts as well.
