I came home tonight from this English major dinner thing at school and turned on the radio to hear that Jones had runners at the corners with two out and I got reeeal nervous. But then it turned out well so its cool.
I'm not ready to kick Rollercoaster out of town yet. He's been absolutely awesome up until this opportunity, and he still got the save. Also, he didn't work at all over the weekend because we didn't need him versus the Twins. I think they signed him for a reason and I'm confident that he'll pick up a good 40-50 saves for us this season.
Look at it this way - who would you rather have on the Tigers right now as the closer: Todd Jones -- who hasn't blown a save yet this season -- or Texas stud closer Francisco Cordero - who has been torched all season. All pitchers are going to have rough outings - heck Bonderman had one this season and look how he did tonight. Runleyvs Hernandez had an entire career of bad outings so far except for his last two big league starts - so I'm okay with Rollercoaster.
Yeah they did, I turned it on and right as I did they flashed a score update on top. I'm not a Wings fan (long story, but I lived in CO for like 7 years, so I already had a bias, then the lockout happened, blah blah blah) but I turned it on just to see if my friends would be killing themselves soon and right as I did they flashed an update. Besides, I have 4 papers to finish so watching it would not really have been conducive to writing.
