Trading Magglio

Lynn Henning suggests it. I've been mulling over the idea for a few weeks. He has one of the large contracts we could actually get rid of. He's coming off an AL batting title in 07 and - depending how the last month+ goes - another year contending for one. It's pretty well known that we our farm system is short in catching, starting pitching and shortstops. Lynn suggests trading for a catcher, and I'm inclined to agree - what with Bondo coming back and the free agent pitchers available mixed with supposition of bringing up a shortstop from the minors and a few good/great FA shortstops available.
Joyce would likely start in a corner spot. Lynn suggests new catcher would bump Brandon to third for added defense. In my fantasy world, Sheffield would be sent to the minors until he can hit and Guillen would DH or play first while Cabrera DHed.
Of course we lose on offense, but that hasn't really been our problem this year. As much as I love Maggs, I could be in favor depending on the return; wondered what you guys thought of the idea.
