No free pass for Leyland
I know some will disagree violently but I find myself agreeing with this article:

And I'm pretty sure Huge has earlier in the year, applauded Leyland.

At any rate, he's not going anywhere, so no use arguing about it.
And as far as Huge goes, he should stick to radio, not that he's particularly good at that either. He's way better when he drops the persona and just chats with his guests and callers. The bombast is what makes him unlistenable. But I suppose that's what he gets paid for. That and he's really, really good at sponsor placement.
"Okay, up next on the Rheem Cool Line we've out or Lions Insider Brain VanOcten from the Grand Rapids Press calling us live from Tommy Brann's Brann's Steakhouse over there on Leonard in Northwest GR where you can get dinner for the family for $25 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights as I did with my lovely wife last night. They're also catering my Huge Watch Party of the Michigan/Delaware State game at the New Fox Honda on the corner of 29th and Broadmoor in GR next Saturday with their General Manager Dutchy VanDerDucthmeister the ice cold Miller Lite will be flowing next Saturday. Brian!? What appetizer did you choose at Tommy Brann's Brann's Steakhouse over there on Leonard in Northwest GR where you can get dinner for the family for $25 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights as I did with my lovely wife last night?"

I've heard more complaining about Leland than praise, so I don't know why someone is trying to write an argumentative article to those who don't hate him.
I don't know enough about baseball to criticize. However, it's not like the skipper is putting down the "don't hit" sign, or intentionally trying not to score runs. The Tigers were one out away from a division title missing how many of their key players? Yes, they blew a big lead. But nobody was saying how good they were after July 23 when they were tied with Chicago and just 2.5 games ahead of Minnesota, only to win 3 out of 4 and start getting that lead.
Hindsight is 20/20.
