I'm sure I'm just missing something very simple (in which case wouldn't be bad because then someone would know the answer), or maybe it's nothing at all.

The past couple games I've noticed a remote in the stands. Like a mascot. What is that about? I know they said that Paws normally chases the remote.

Thank you! :)

It's a Comcast brand remote. So basically it's advertisement.

They have to pay for Cabrera and Verlander somehow, after all.

It's a feature called "Where's The Remote" and it's advertising Tigers games via Comcast On Demand. Most games it's just a TV spot but for a few, there is a live remote mascot.
